My favourite Songs from Hillsong

Hillsong is one of my favourite christian bands. I've been listening to their songs for years now and it has been a blessing. These are my all time favourite songs by Hillsong: 1. Oceans : This song always and I mean always moves me. I usually tend to cry when I listen to it. It changes the atmosphere and then I just become oblivious to my environment. 2. I surrender: Yet another touching song. Love love it. Its such a beautiful song. Its a song of personal dedication. In case you are wondering, yes this song makes me cry as well hehe. 3. With everything: "With everything with everything I will shout for your glory". The song speaks for itself. Wont say much (Its too nice for words!) 4. Stronger by Hillsong: Its all about positive confessions. I listen to or sing it any time I feel weak. 5. Hosanna: Eeeh! If you haven't heard this song, stop right now. Click on follow my blog (hehe..really has nothing to do with it! Bt still do oo), check your music ap...

Not As I Planned (Poem Alert!!)

You know how it is when at age six you decided you'll be a vet. Then at age nine you upgraded and say why not be a doctor. Then at fourteen you watch this cool movie of crime investigators and you're like that's so cool. Well if you haven't I have. I've probably imagined myself in literally ever career there is lol. I'm not here to talk about career choices. Nope! Just want to say how life may not turn out as planned or expected but when God is your captain you can expect a safe destination. Here's a poem I wrote titled Planned my Life. I planned my life Every inch of it I knew who I was before anyone found out I had decided my future before I understand the word I was sure of where I was going I knew the route, Yes every inch of it. At five I planned my sweet sixteen Yes every inch of it I knew the venue before I knew my house location I knew which university I would go to Before even being in high school Yes every inch of it What...

Why So Many Mistakes?

This week most definitely should be tagged, 'Mistake Week'. I mean from forgetting the money my mum told me too keep to loosing money, I mean why not? I forgot to give my baby bro water. Forgot to iron my uniform and then forgot that I wasn't supposed to use my bathroom as the plumber was yet to fix the W/C. Sheesh, I've been a scattered head this week. I hate it  when I make stupid mistakes. Especially when I could have easily avoided them. Its so annoying! I honestly wish I had a remote control that could rewind me back in time (that would be AWESOME!). But I don't. So I'm stuck having to face the consequences of my mistakes I really wish I hadn't made. Sometimes I really don't get myself. I mean things could have turned out differently if only I did what was right. And I just don't mean simply forgetting something. You know that feeling when you do something wrong and you to feel guilty and start scrutinizing your actions. Your conscience be...

Inspiring Poem

Did you know that the month April is recognized as World Poetry month. In honour of this and also because I'm a poet, I'm publishing a self-written poem titled, I'm a Youth. The poem identifies the carefree lifestyle of youths of this generation. I wrote this poem through accumulated experiences, how I feel at times as well as what I see in many youths. Hope you are inspired; Poem: I'm a Youth I'm a youth This means I'm young I'm growing and developing I'm a youth This means I can be shy I can be immature I can do insensible things I'm a youth My mum says I'm strong headed I love to do things myself and take orders from no one. I'm a youth My dad gives me responsibilities I grumble, groan and cant wait to be in the company of my friends. I'm a youth This means I'm always concerned about my looks- shape, clothes, hair I try to be updated on the latest trends. I'm a youth I love to list...

If You feel confused

I was so confused some minutes ago. Last year I was very undecided on if I wanted to be a science or art student. Now by God's grace and wisdom I chose science. I've decided I'm doing a medical course. But I'm just not sure which 😖. I started imagining myself having a bleak or unfulfilling future because I wasn't sure what I wanted to be or do. Negative thoughts started playing in my mind. I'm very happy I didn't stay in that condition for long 😊. I remembered a quote from my favourite christian rapper KB. He said: I don't know what tomorrow holds but I know who holds my tomorrow. Suddenly so much faith and confidence rose in me. Every doubt and negative thought cleared my mind. I still may not be sure on what I want to be, but I have trust and faith in my God. I know He's with me every step. I'm sure I'm in safe hands and therefore I have no cause to worry. Matthew 6:25 : “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your lif...

Its Good Friday

Hey its Teenella and I'm sure you know what today is. GOOD FRIDAY!!! The day the son of God made that big sacrifice that offered us salvation and eternal life. What Jesus did on the cross for mankind on this very day isn't something ordinary, its extraordinary. Imagine someone who created us was shamed, beaten and disgraced by his very own creation. Do you realize Jesus could have decided not to die on that cross. I mean God didn't order him to. But because of the inexplicable love and mercy Jesus had for mankind he came in flesh and paid the price for our prize- the opportunity of salvation and eternal love. Jesus I thank you for the sacrifice you made on the cross this very day. Thank you for salvation and eternal life even though I'm not worthy of it.

Stand Up and Speak Out

There's one major problem I have and that's not speaking up. I know what's right and what's wrong but I keep succumbing to wrong. I just make up an excuse for my actions. Its something that has become more of a habit. I end up feeling guilty and sort of condemned. I usually spend many nights thinking over my actions and wondering what I could have done better. I'm sure of it now. I have to learn to stand up and speak out on what I believe, my faith and opinions. If you're out there and you feel the need to be bold about your opinions like me, say this prayer with me: Dear Lord I thank you for today. Thank you for you provision and protection over my life. Thank you Lord for letting me see my fault. I ask in your name to give me the grace to be bold and stand up an speak out. Amen

Ask God To Use You

Are you bored. Well why not hunger to be useful. Why not spend this year being busy for the Lord. I encourage you to ask God to use you this year. There are so many ways you can help enlarge the kingdom of God. You don't necessarily have to go round carrying a bible (although that's a way!) why not use your God-given talents. Do you have a persuasive attitude then persuade someone to read a verse in the bible. Are you a good speaker, why not speak up about God! I mean what's so wrong with that! Come on we are christians. Not just christians we are youths, which means we can be crazy, silly😉 be crazy for God this year and spread it. why not say this simple prayer with me today: Lord I want to be used this year. Father help me to be bold in declaring your greatness. I pray that this year I will use my talents and gifts to your glory.
Hey Awesome Youths😊. How is your day going? I was going to write you about obedience. But my article is still under construction. So I'm sending you this link. http://m.christianpost.com/news/do-i-need-to-feel-like-obeying-god-for-my-obedience-to-be-sincere-opinion-165147/ ps. Lyrical Healing

The power of lyrics is immeasurable. The words can cut through hearts, mend broken wounds, bring untold comfort and uplifting of our spirit.        Throughout this year I have seen and felt the power of music. When I was broken He music healed me. When frustrated, it brought motivation. When angry it showed me the mercy of God. When lost it showed me light. When sick it brought strength to my body.        God is working into our hearts. In many ways. I have discovered one: Music 🎼🎹🎶. Through music God speaks directly to me. He tells me not to worry, shows me my faults and brings so much gladness to my heart.        The Holy Spirit brings a song to my heart and when i sing it it brings an activation of my spirit man.              I'll share one of the ways in which music has brought lyrical healing to me. My junior WAEC (West African Examination Council) w...

Who is a Christian youth

Hey guys! Its Teenella reporting live from her bedroom😉. I just started this blog and I've been thinking nonstop what I should write about.  I wanted to write some kind of mission statement. But it didn't seem appealing to me. So I've spared you the weary talk. 📝 I'm not saying mission statements are boring or. Unimportant. I'll do it later. Instead I'm going to explain what it means to be a christian youth. Two words here: Christian and youth. Definitions: Christian- a religious person who believes Jesus is the Christ and who is a member of a Christian denomination. Youth- a young person (especially a young man or boy) literally a Christian youth is a young person who is a follower of Christ. But I believe there's more to it than just a young follower. Surely it has a deeper meaning. What's you're understanding of a christian youth? To be continued....
